Sweet Music RecommendsAprapta Music has a huge release up its sleeves with this one. It comes form the titanic techno talent that is Timo Maas who links with Mark Deutsche for a pair of originals. Their tunes get remixes by Basti Grub and the label’s owner Aprapta to make for a killer EP.
Things get moving from the off with the industrial clatter of SupaKrnk, which also has a cinematic vibe thanks to the spoken word vocals that sound like a pilot on a spaceship. It’s smart stuff that really gets you locked. The Basti Grub remix is about excellent sound design, smart filters and woozy vocals that are all layered up with tiny little sounds and colours. Master is the other original and this one rolls deeper, with rubber kicks and icy synths all soothing your mind and getting you under a spell, then the Aprapta remix makes it into a fluid, gurgling techno roller that’s minimal in style but maximal in effect. A great end to a top EP on a really exciting new label.
