Frank Storm has been making real waves in the underground – he runs his own Unusual Suspect party and now branches out with his own new label. Called CRUNCH, it starts off with a new EP from the boss himself.
Things get under way with the wild and raven ‘The Way It Is’, with great diva soul vocals and a dub version that is more stripped back for the late night hours. ‘New York Bar’ then switches up the vibe with a rattling house groove and whispered vocals that get right under your skin. Closing things out in fine fashion is ‘Moog In Da Selva’, which has real intensity to the drums, glistening and razor sharp Detroit style hi hats cutting up the groove. When the vocals arrive it really finishes things off and rounds out a superb EP.
