Despite the difficult circumstances of putting on events in summer 2021, One Out Festival did a superb job, especially for a debut. This year it was back and better than ever with a larger crowd and plenty more music.

It all goes down on Apps Court Farm next to the snaking River Thames not far from central London, and with plenty of lush green British countryside providing the backdrop. There is lots to explore from secluded lakes and ancient trees to, of course, the various different stages.

There were three in all across the event and each had its own well curated look and sound. The main stage was where the biggest energy beats were served up with some mad production and plenty of smoke machines. DJ duo Prospa played big sounds that didn’t even slow when a bit of drizzle began to fall and Sea Devine pumped up her big, bass heavy house grooves to a loving crowd. Mele was also in fine form and the smiling faces in front of him lapped up every beat.

A big blue tent was all new for this year with plenty of mad musical goings on from the likes of TikTok turned DJ sensation Jakkob, who has a great sense of humour and really brought the funkiness. Also in here, the notorious party starters The Menendez Brothers warmed up the crowd with a widescreen selection before the nightfall came.

When it did, a crack team of house heads all did their thing, with Jasper James, DJ Senfield and Dusky  all serving up a gamut of offerings from deep to dark to tech to vocal. Last of all was the main man Skream who did a superb job of blowing up the dance floor.

What made this so special was not only the attention to detail, great organisation and nice loud sound, but also the happy people who attended. They are music lovers first and foremost and they made this one to remember for sure. We are already looking forward to next year.
