Klement Bonelli is a French artist who makes a big impression here with his superb album Resurgences. It comes on his own label Tinnit Music with a host of fantastic guests all adding to its broad musical charms.
SANDHAUS is the guest on opener Disco Suicide which is a dark and moody groove with majestic chords and spine tingling vocals. Zuzu then rolls deep with spiritual vocal sounds and meaningful chords and that is also the case on the more upbeat Ngikhusele and driving, late night sounds of Mamy Blue with Coco adding some spine tingling vocals.
Klement goes solo on M&J which is a nice broken beat vibe with bright synths and plenty of atmosphere. Elsewhere standout vocalist Thandi Draai lands on Qina and cooks up a lovely vibe with her chanting style locking you in. Later on, vocalist Coco returns on another sublime tune and Che Cherry helps to make Chasing Sunrises a standout tribal tune that really gets you on your toes. This is afro house with real authenticity and immersive drum work as exemplified by closer Last Song.
This is a standout album full of proper musical richness and many rewarding grooves.
