Sol Selectas drops a new release featuring a collaboration between Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil.

German Brigante has previously featured on Sol Selectas as a remix artist and also on last year’s Summer Sol compilation, but this time he returns with a full EP.

The three original tracks have been made in collaboration with fellow Spaniard Yamil who has also contributed tracks to Summer Sol compilations along with also featuring as a remix artist.

Both German Brigante and Yamil have also released on other high-flying record labels. German Brigante has an eclectic style that he has also featured on imprints ranging from Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird to Solomun’s Diynamic.

Yamil has more of a refined style that focuses mainly on melodic/organic house including the likes of Super Flu’s Monaberry amongst others.

The three original tracks take influence from the traditional music from Morocco, and use samples of instruments from the country’s culture.

Building on the Moroccan theme is the choice of remix artists, as Amine K and Mr. ID add their individual stamps to the release and they are both from Morocco.

Amine K has close ties to Sol Selectas after collaborating on releases with label owner Sabo, and Mr. ID debuts on the imprint following releases on labels like Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory.

All of the tracks have flowing percussion with sun-drenched melodies and vocals in Moroccan Arabic, creating a contemporary blend of traditional culture and modern electronic music. Their mid-tempos and blend of styles give them widespread appeal in multiple genres ranging from deep house to world music, but Afro house is probably the most suitable genre for them.
