Superfreq has continued to serve up red hot sounds this year despite all the weirdness that has been going on. Their futuristic tech has provided a real outlet for us all and now that continues with another fine effort from label regular Jay Tripwire, who offers up one single that comes with remixes by Jared Love, Joel West and Jehr.
DMT Demento opes up and is a dark and prying tech tune with a sense of late night menace. Deep drums make a nice groove and the sci-fi synths bring the vibes. It’s creepy and mysterious and full of cinematic atmosphere. Jared Love brings a more skipping, airy sense of groove to the table and gets inside your head with his slippery synths. Jehr is in more late night mood, with tense bass and chattery snares that bring to mind an intergalactic space battle. Finally, DMT Demento (Joel West Alternative Reality Remix) traps you in a trance including head space with distant pads, dubby vibes and a busy, knotted baseline that cannot fail hook you in.
