Moxy Muzik’s 10th EP is just as good as the previous nine. This time it comes from label boss Darius Syrossian as well as Dennis Quin, and they serve up an original each, with PIV Records bossman Prunk also included in remix mode.
All tracks are super effective tackle for the club. It’s more than functional fodder but it never gets bogged down in fads or fashions. Opener Harlem Lights from Syrossian is all bleeping synths, edgy vocal loops and raw, earthy kicks that make you march. Prunk for his part steps up with a more smooth, seductive and skill take that warms the soul. It’s then to the original of Fuego from Dennis Quin, which showcases his mastery of no frills house beast, chunky grooves and deep cut house funk. Syrossian closes out the party with a remix that layers up the drum fills, stabs, vocal yelps and more into a steamy dance floor bomb.
