Alfie Rhodes launches his new record label EKEI with an EP from himself that also includes a remix by Sunday Noise.
The label has a chunky tech house style that’s similar to other imprints such as Hot Creations, so it makes sense that Jamie Jones has been supporting the Sunday Noise remix from EKEI’s first release.
Prior to starting his own record label, Alfie Rhodes has featured on other imprints including Flipside to EDM Underground, but it seems that EKEI is to become a regular outlet for his own tracks.
Sunday Noise provides a remix of the title track “Flex On Me” and his rework will no doubt be the main highlight on this release for many people. He is already known for his releases on Steve Lawler’s VIVa LIMITED and his percussion heavy rework is true to his trademark sound.
The original mix of Flex On Me orientates around a catchy vocal about pumping iron in the gym that translates to giving the dance floor a good workout with its groovy bassline and chunky percussion.
“Online Ghost” is second of the original tracks and it’s a deeper and more soulful cut with moody atmosphere and deep melody chords.
Overall, it’s an impressive first release from EKEI, and you can pick up a copy from HERE.
