AKKI (DE) returns to UMEK’s 1605 with a two-track solo release after recently featuring on one of the record label’s mixed artist EPs.
One of the artists who have broken through in 2022, AKKI (DE) has a style that’s similar to UMEK’s and that makes him a great fit for 1605.
Prior to his music being signed to 1605, AKKI (DE) had been synonymous with the Cosmic Boys and their label Legend. Not only had he collaborated on a track with the Cosmic Boys, but he had released numerous solo productions via Legend.
He has also been featured on other influential techno record labels such as Monika Kruse’s Terminal M and Spartaque’s CODEX. This new EP titled ‘Loneliness’ features two original tracks in his high-octane style that mixes powerful synth melodies with devastatingly powerful percussion.
The EP’s title track “Loneliness” opens the release with murky atmosphere and a pulsating bassline that is soon joined by the euphoric lead synth, which takes flight in the breakdown section. The uplifting breakdown leads into a massive drop when the percussion hits back in.
“The End” is second of the tracks and it’s the harder of the two with its pounding kick drum and relentless hi-hats. It’s built around an epic vocal sample that captivates the imagination while the percussion hammers home the groove and the synths add to the fast and furious energy.
